【追記】

今日スタジオに向かう電車の中で、THE CARSのフロントマンのRic Okasekが亡くなった事を知りました。

僕にとって最も重要で、最も影響を受けたバンドの1つの、

最も影響を受けたミュージシャンの1人であり、コンポーザーでもあり、憧れのヒーローでも

あるRic Okasekが急逝。

スタジオでは新しい機材を試す日だったのですが、とても辛く苦しい2時間になりました。

でも心から尊敬しているRicに恥じないよう、最初から最後まで、やるべき事をしっかりやりました。

忘れられないスタジオ練習になりました。

帰り道から帰宅後～そして今も、ずっとTHE CARSの美しいバラード「I'm not the one」が頭の中で流れている。

これからも、いつまでもTHE CARSは僕にとって史上最高のバンドだし、Ric Okasekは

史上最高のアーティスト(彼こそ「アーティスト」という肩書きが似合うミュージシャンは居ない気がします)だし、

クールでスタイリッシュで

ハイセンスなRic(あの声！も)と、彼の創り上げた名曲の数々をこれまで以上に大切に愛し続けるだろう。

ボウイとプリンスの時もそうだったけど、「さよなら」は言いたくない。

Ric、今までたくさんの感動をありがとう。

ご冥福と、残されたメンバーと彼のご家族の心が癒えていく事を心からお祈り申し上げます。

明日のLiveは(THE CARSの曲は演りませんが)Ric Okasekに捧げます。

 【Postscript】

On the train heading to the studio today,I knew that 「THE CARS」frontman Ric Okasek died.

Ric Okasek, one of the most important and most affected bands for me, one of the most affected musicians, composer and longing hero, rushed.

It was a day to try out new equipment in the studio, but it was a very difficult and painful 2 hours.

However, I did everything I had to do from the beginning to the end so as not to be ashamed of Ric, who I really respect.

It became an unforgettable studio practice.

After returning home from the way home-and now

THE CARS's beautiful ballad “I'm not the one” has been flowing in my head.

From now on, THE CARS has always been the best band for me,

Ric Okasek is the best artist of all time (he doesn't feel like a musician with the title "Artist"), cool, stylish and high-sense Ric (and that voice!) And his masterpiece  I'll continue to love many things more than ever.

Like Bowie and Prince, I don't want to say goodbye.

Ric, thank you so much for everything.

I sincerely pray for the well-being and the healing of the remaining members and his family.

Tomorrow's Live is dedicated to Ric Okasek (although I don't play 

THE CARS songs).
